chalet accomodation
The chalets were built about 20 years ago. They form a conventional wooden chalet on three floors. The main reception rooms are on the first floor, these are fronted by a wide balcony which gives almost unparalleled views of the magnificent Aravis range, which runs parallel and to the west of the Mont Blanc range. In the evening, guests have superb views of the night skies and during the day there is a reasonable chance of spotting the Golden Eagles, which nest in the woods on both sides of our valley. If warm enough, we eat breakfast and dinner on the balcony.
To allow easy discourse between the guide and members of his party whilst negotiating the mountain paths, numbers are limited to a total of five. This also ensures that all guests have a choice of staying in a single or double bedroom. The positioning of the chalet is such, that all rooms have excellent views of the Alps.
Catering is all in house. The menu is predominantly local dishes and every effort is made to ensure that the food is sourced locally and that the wines are from the Savoie.
After the walks, which generally have guests back at the chalet in time for tea, there is the opportunity for a short discussion on the various flowers found or birds identified. However we stress that we attempt to cater for everybody’s needs and there is no pressure to join these.
